Week 44 – Always be Setting Goals!
Hello Friends,
It’s been a hot minute I know. Life updates below, otherwise goal, shop and more useful tidbits below:
It’s be literally like 10 weeks of just slacking, then thinking, then more meditation. I am not even sure where I started. Essentially I am doing a few things differently and we are working on deciding on what we want our life to look like.
I think after looking at my 19 before 2019 goals, I really started thinking hard about what I’ve done this year and what I want next year. It’s hard, because I feel like I really have reached most of my adult life goals, at least the bigger ones. The other stuff – like explore and go on adventures, will come with time as we get older and able to do such things – but as a kid I always knew what I wanted to do [hint: its Marketing] and I do it. Everyday, I create amazing things, everyday. I got out of the South – thank Goddess – which was really my only big life goal. I don’t know why but I was really scared of being stuck there in that small town forever.
I still don’t want kids, though I hope I get that urge one day, it seems so many people do get this amazing feeling and urge to have and love kids. Not there for me, but maybe one day. Not writing it off. Both of us are pretty indifferent to the idea for the moment.
So career, fulfilled. I guess it would be cool to make a commercial? I’ve made most everything else. I have a few side things I want to try making. I’d love to make a game, app(s), write a book, those type of goals.
The main reason we started exploring these is my SO started questioning his career choices and what he wanted to do. Then we got to talking long-term and of course, it gets deflected a bit. It’s been a fun month working through these questions. Anyway,
So just some general happy updates. I launched my inserts in my digital shop:
I’ve already had luck selling them. I plan to add more and make them fancier and then work on specific designs. I would like to make it so they fit themes (like the stars I’ve been obsessed with)
I have also started with printed inserts, I have to finish and punch them, then list them. I am working on it a bit slower than I would like, but there are a lot of pieces. I have packaging figured out, finally. I didn’t want to do plastic for eco reasons, so I found some baking bags that are adorable to test out. I can do stickers myself to seal them. Then mailers…working on that.
I had planned to over CUT stickers this year =X but I am not 100% on board yet, shipping sucks so much T_T; so I am not on board yet. Working on it.
I also want to do insert books and a secret project I am working on, it’s just a twinkle in my eye at the moment.
I really want to do a seasonal sticker book. I just think these are amazing and I love them.
That is already a lot to consider and I am not even done yet. I am HOPING to work on some books this NOV and plot those concepts out, then actually write them.
There is just so much I want to try to make! It’s crazy.
Then, one more thing I am working on is adding a section for freelancing on the website. I have been working on a practice proposal and narrowing down what I want to work on. For example, I dislike social media – so that wouldn’t be a service I would want to offer.
Honestly even just talking about these things makes me so excited. This is why I am so passionate about Marketing and creating its just such much fun. If you do it for yourself and fun, it’s just the best feeling, then being able to share it with people is such a multiplier. I serious was so excited and happy when my first insert sold.
My issue is I have all these ideas and need a manager, feel free to apply – payment is pretty much anything I make you can use/collect. It’s hard to stay focused with so many ideas, so I want to emphasize writing them down. I like to use Google Keep. It just helps me keep projects together.
The point of this conversation is, I want to let you know 1 – I am alive and haven’t forgotten you lovely blog friends D: and 2 – always be open to ideas and creating! You never know where it is going to lead. Passion projects are the most rewarding.
If you ever need help figuring out how to create something – a marketing plan, a pin, buttons, stickers, whatever! I am here to help and advise, you can just shoot me an email. I would love to help.
Happy Halloween peeps – regular updates will be coming soon, with new Marketing content to express some of my skills on that side.
