Small Chats: Hormonal Tracker Insert

Hello Friends~

This one is going to be a little girl power – so I feel you if you skip it. Sometime a few months ago, around August, this video popped up on my Youtube feed. It’s called Your Period in 2 Minutes – and goes through the round of hormones you get each month. The first time I watched it I was like wow that explains so much. Holy snaps.

Then I drew it out, as I thought – let’s see if I can time this and plan ahead. So I started making it, I used my mild liners to label it and color code it and I was like YES. I am so happy with this.

Then I looked at it. Like really looked at it.

Did you know, basically half or more of the month, depending on your cycle, female hormones are basically fighting against our own happiness. I sure didn’t until I share it in a nice color-coded chart. Then I was angry. I also shared this BS with every girl in my area, and we all went ‘huh that’s some BS’ and commiserated.

So, other than wanting to share this BS. I also wanted to share how I am now using this information to keep an eye on my mood and make sure I take care of my self on those days. Here is the listing, I made it cheaper than other inserts since it is more of an infographic. You can also doodle it up yourself, don’t feel pressured to make it pretty, it’s more for you to reference.

So how I use this in my planning is in a two line a day spread. I make this just out of the HP paper I have on hand, and pre-date it. While I date it I reference this wheel, as well as the previous month. If you weren’t aware, this doesn’t start on the first of the month – the first day of your period is the start of the cycle, and it may not run on a 28 day cycle – I am 3 months into this and I am finding I think I am on a 21 day cycle instead, but either way, in this spread I make notes where I should expect to feel/stage I expect to be in.

This does a few things for me, makes me log how I feel each day, and allows me to see if I am expected to feel or have a specific effect – such as breakouts – and try to prevent that. I hate surprise breakouts, and so far this has helped me negate them by being super vigilant during those days. Also by logging my feels each day, which I am getting better at, I can see if it lines up and makes adjustments to better predict my cycle.

Okay, that is about it on this one, I really think tracking your mood, hormones or not, is incredibly helpful and doesn’t need to be more than a couple of lines.

Happy Planning~
