Setting up 22 Before 2022

Hey Friends

It’s that time of year, # before years end goals. As these lists grow it’s getting harder to fill them so might have to make it a tradition of every 10 added we move it back a month lol I usually do this in July or August personally, as the last push towards my goals I haven’t finished OR if halfway through the year I wanted to try something new.

This year is unique, as I completely reset my goals mid-year as I expected 2021 to be similar to 2020 and was just really not feeling it. Mid-year, vaxxed and feeling better about this year, I reset and made some adjustments. I still feel pretty good about them and this list, and a lot better about this year than I thought.  I want to also reiterate I don’t always get all of these, and that is OK. They are goals and I aim to do them before the end of the year, but sometimes money, time, or other resources just fall through. It happens and I just want to remind you that is ok too.

Past Years

19 Before 2019

20 Before 2020

21 Before 2021

If you are unfamiliar with this challenge, it’s a final push for your goals before the end of the year. It always has gone X before 20X; although I am thinking of swapping it out for 20 before 20X going forward, as this list builds it’s a pretty big challenge. I love doing it every year, even though I don’t meet them all.

I also want to mention another really fun challenge I started at the beginning of the year that I think is a great way to keep memories, I am not 100% where I saw it originally from but probably on Instagram or possibly Youtube BUJU setups, but an X Good things in 20X list. So for this year, 21 good things that happened in 2021. I’ve been loving it and it’s a more positive take on the year. I don’t do a ton of memory keeping personally, I let my Google photos do that for me, but this has been nice. I needed the boost after 2020 and I thought this year it would be a good way to appreciate the smaller things. I’ll share my list when I am done and update it here, but highly recommend it if you are struggling with the good.

Happy planning, this year is flying by, get those tasks checked off!

My 22 before 2022

2022 Planner Pages

I already created my 2022 planner for myself and download it, you can get it in either shop (digital or print). So this is technically done, but I started this list in July, I just haven’t had a chance to finish it. I plan to keep adding to it and I am pretty happy with it.

Start a FB Group

I also completed this as of posting this list, it’s a member was only me (lol) but I started a group on FB as another attempt to build a community for goal planning and support. You can join it if you are interested. I plan to start motivation Mondays next week, August 9th, and if people start joining I want to do goal check-ins each month, productivity sprints, share what you make/brag post, and more. that is the goal.

Update Computer Parts

Working on this, is a money dependant goal, as I am fine with what I have but if I am able I would like to update my parts. I already have a new hard drive, I am currently using four hobbled together, and wanted to have just one master and backup. I would like to update the inside, outside, get new monitors and deck my keyboard out in some cute keys. These are all dependant on where we are with our financial goals as they are not needed just a want.

Make a notebook

By this, I mean an actual wire-o notebook. I am a picking person when it comes to paper, seriously. I’ve looked at manufacturers and getting some cute notebooks printed but I hate the insides. I like my lines to be lighter gray and since I am obsessed with good quality ones, I want to make them myself. I got some cover stock for my cinch and I’ve been having fun making test journals but I want to offer notebooks, just need to make one or two and figure out the cost, so I can price them, and yeah we’ll see. It’s a project for another day, but before of the end of the year.

Pay ***** off

I am on schedule and close to getting a card paid off, the plan is before the end of the year and then I’ll be in a pretty good place. It’d be great if I could be in a better spot, but I am basing this fact on my current situation and am OK with that. If it changes better, goals, then even better. I am super excited for this goal though, data man.

Weekend trip

I am not sure we will get to do this, the partner is kinda stubborn about wanting to go out of state more, but I just want a weekend in Estes man T_T any hotel, near a natural area, to chill and not be home. We’ll see though if I can talk him into this sooner than later.

Out of state trip

This is on the docs for early October, so looking good, hoping to have it booked by the time this live just need to sit down and do it. We are planning to go to the PNW again, hopefully, more coast this time around~ looking very forward to it!

Make more Challenges to share

Also done, by the time this is live all three will have been posted. I knew I wanted to do some more as they perform well on Pinterest, but I wanted them to be goal-oriented as I want to focus on what I’ve decided. I am not sure how to teach it, still, but I think if I keep sharing the way I set goals and plan them out and reach them, eventually we’ll get there. I know it’s possible and it’s pretty consistent to break them down, work slowly towards them and you’ll get there me

Finish adding to book outline and get a review

Need to do this, have some items in my head I may change, it’s basically what I would call a 0 draft. I’ve been trying to get the sequence of events and character growth down on paper in order for a year+ and adding to it slowly. I need more filler in between for sure, but the more I read the better I think I am getting at understanding the plot I want to go with.

Publish journals to Amazon

I want to publish my journals, planner pages, and reviews on Amazon as Amazon KDP print books. I haven’t done this, I want to, and I should do this. I just keep putting it back but seriously need to give it a go, I think it will be super cool and another great resource for downloads.

Finish purchased course

I paid for a course earlier this year and have not finished it. I did this for both experiences in the subject and to see what an X-priced course has in it. It’s been good, I’m just trash.

Finish read book goal (26)

On track, as of writing this, I am at 15. I have a few light novels I need to read, a few indie’s I picked up, a trash smutty romance I wanted to try (lol), and more. I just took a break over the summer but I need to pick a few backups. I was tearing through light novels in May but stopped in June to focus on some work stuff.

Save money as a family

I have a goal in mind, and we are doing OK at this current pace so we should be on track for the year for it. The goal is to save it, spend it doing the thing we are saving for, then save back up and do another thing. Who knows though, this thing may change in the end anyway, but at least we have a bit of a net. I feel for those the last two years who have had to start completely over. I’ve been out of full-time work for the last two years, put back into debt (after getting out, it sucks!), and just overall stressed as well, I am hoping to get it back together and just keep moving forward. Being a millennial has sucked.

Start investing

I recently picked up some woman’s investing influencers and I am super interested in this. I’ll admin the BS on Reddit is what made me think about it, with Gamestop, so I think I want to give it a goal and it’s on my list to start educating myself more.

Update and improve SEO on-site

I want to improve my SEO on the site, shop site, and more. I would like to run FB ads on the shop site and My Etsy, eventually. I’m not an SEO marketing person but I thought this would be a great way to get better at it anyway, so it works for career improvement and fun. I can and do the basics, but I want to get better, just because it’s interesting and maybe one day will make side money, not the goal though.

Get ears pierced a second time

Been trying to do this for like, two years. Pandemic kept me from it before, so I am hoping before the end of the year I can pop by and get them done somewhere.

Inktober

I think I say this every year and fail a lot. It’s okay, we’ll keep trying. It’s a challenge after all.

Donate Blood

I haven’t been able to get in and donate blood. Not gonna lie, it was my part as I struggled to figure out how to online, but now I got that down a bit and I would like to get back into this habit. I have a good blood type and I can, so I want to again. If I can, I would love to organize another blood drive.

Try aged meat

Just wanna try, I like trying new foods and I’ve heard aged meat is really good. It’s also expensive, so this may be a cost issue this year, but I know Tony’s sells it here, so we’ll see if I can make this happen before the end of the year.

Get a bike?

This one is also dependant on cost, as Bike prices are up due to the demand for parts and less of those parts being made. I also want a nice one, so I am not thinking of a Walmart bike. I want to invest in a nice one that I bring inside at night lol. It just may not happen right now, but I have my eye on the market.

Plan 2022 goals out

No clue what this is going to look like yet. I am excited about the possibilities, but yeah, it’s been a crazy ride the last few years. I know I want to be in a house or condo with a reasonable grassy area in the next 3 years. This may not be in Denver for us, and that is OK with us. We’ll try to figure it all out, but I want a yard and cheaper rent, this is some BS.

Get back into Dr. for ADHD

Been doing well on managing this, but since I had a lot of time this year I spent it making sure things got checked, in therapy, and the like. I want to go back and ask about ADHD as I was concerned in the beginning about it but with the other diagnosis, I let it go and focused on it. I think I want to go back and ask, just to see. If I do get the medication I will absolutely document it and point out my symptoms and how it helped, as it has helped me see people do this and what made me think twice.
