Just General Updates

Hello Friends~

It has been a while since I updated the site. But I have been working on the back end – ugh and adulting. I will touch quickly on the adulting first, as if you are around age 30 you should get on that.

The the last couple months I’ve been getting things in order for a proper financial life. I 100% over spend on craft stuff, and the dollar store BUT I am currently able to as we are both old enough to make our own decisions, plus childless(woo). So, we both went to the Doctor (well one of us is still on the appointment) to get just a health check. I am great, anemic but nothing new there. I haven’t honestly been to a general Doctor since I was 12. Thank goodness for Woman doctors who care, and checked on me occasionally. So that was out of pocket, of course, but worth it. Then this last month we started working with a Financial advisor. I feel I am pretty educated, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t have the same knowledge this person does – it is his livelihood to help people with money – so I know we are in good hands. I like the gentleman we found. So Retirement plans check. Investments Check. Health Check. And finally we are having a friend in the industry run our numbers against rent vs buy for us. If you don’t know, I live in Denver. I actually work in Real Estate. This market is insane and if we are going to stay here another 3 years, we should buy if we can. So working on that next.

Just F*@K. Adulting is hard, but I would highly suggest doing it early on vs waiting. For example, our one plan, which won’t be the only thing we do assuming our wealth continues to grow, will net us about 400k each at 65. This is from $200/ month investment. It is simply because we are starting at such a good age and planning ahead.

To be perfectly honest, I donno if investments are a worthy cause, I am into the whole prepping thing – this is a prep if everything stays the same – I will not die on a dirty mattress. So yay.

Anyway, back to the website and back end working D:

I have been ignoring the website to focus more on Etsy and Art – as I really do like writing, but was a bit burnt on it. Essentially I should try to not make money with it and more have fun, I just don’t want to do that type of content.

I hope someone enjoys it either way.

So, for Etsy I have been working on updating and keeping the overall feel the same across both stores. If you don’t know I have been selling Jewelry on this Etsy for awhile – I have them at super low prices as I was just holding onto them and wanted them to sell – but I think I am going to raise them back up as soon as I am good on the branding. I also wanted to try to get into a craft fair, but I haven’t found one yet. I should really do cons D:

I am picking up a new tablet finally. ASKLALKSJ Finally. SO has asked me to wait repeatedly to get my best value, and I finally got it. I am actually getting a tablet with pen, to use as a drawing tablet. I think it will work out find, as long as I can use a program with layers, drawing is fine anywhere. I cannot wait to get it in hand, hopefully this week.

I want to create more jewelry too – I have been toying with new cuts and ideas. I recently did some wood cuts and tried painting them. I really like where this is going and I think I will keep with it to make new items and collections eventually here.

I need to get back on stickers, as I feel a bit behind, but I got some plans there! I actually made some new middle of year goals for Etsy. I also am using the horizontal planner for now – Happy Planner still – as I can write todo’s on the lines. I like having those. I plan to use the neutral Happy Planner to display stickers. Anyway, here are those new goals:

Print all the sets (for Instagram)

Start its own Instagram

Post them all to Pinterest (so far so good)

Specific Style sets (specially designed)(kinda hard to explain)

Update All Months to include a blank option

 

Inserts/Printables

Remove Blogger(I want to repurpose some of those post)

Update all inserts with proper formats(to sell)

Create more Quotes and Such

 

Misc

Update Redbubble

Maybe do another ^

Draw more

Update Packaging

Test out painting Wood Collection (which is what I am working on)

Working through them pretty well. I like the wood stuff, got packaging I am working on, working on Etsy updates and been working on proper research for stickers. Can’t wait to get new tablet D:

I think for me the branding is probably the most important thing, I have done so much actual creation work that is literally out there in the world – shirts, bill boards, websites – etc and I don’t really talk about it throw it out there – and I want to do that.

I also am thinking of streaming when I work on stuff =X I donno if anyone would be interested in watching me art or craft, but I was looking into how that would work and various outlets.

This all being said, how are you goals going? I know it’s certainly possible to make a profit in 3 months on blogging, I just rather art. Good luck either way!
