2019 Goals and Happy Planner Setup
It’s 2019 peeps
And I don’t know about you but I am SO excited. I love the New Year. Here is a quick flip through of the Happy Planner I picked for this year – the seasonal one. I couldn’t find it on the websites, sorry, or I would link it. I LOVE it, the pages are so cute. I wish the side month pages had the ‘currently’ but I can always add that, I think I even have the half pages somewhere.
Next up, here are my goals, I am going to stitch them, cause man, I picked a lot. But honestly, it’s not if you look at it – it’s pretty reasonable, IMO and most of the harder ones are education based.
Anyway, I break these down into level 10 goals as well, as I find it easier to pick a few goals for each category, I do exclude community as I am not active currently, time-wise.
(I’ll put any notes in parathesis) ○ Visit NY Family & Friends – EAT ALL THE THINGS (I want to do two weeks, but we’ll have to see between here and then) ○ See Krista’s Baby 😀 (looking at June) ○ Go back to Seattle (Just a weekend trip) ○ Read an education/self-improvement books a quarter (already got the first ones booked, I want to read 12 a year, but I was not bold enough to put this as my goal – as I hated reading 4 help books last year, so I am hoping to mix fun books with educational ones and get 12 total in) ○ Set Quarterly Goals vs Monthly (opted out of this, I like my monthly goals, it gives me a good focus for the month I decided) ○ OR Set Weekly goals, so this week I work on X? (something I considered but I tried it at the end of 2018 and it did not work well for me for smaller things – bigger projects I can see this being useful) ○ Go to a career-related seminar (just gotta find one) ○ Go to a Blogger/Planner/fun retreat ( “” I wish I could do the big one in Vegas but it’s so costly D: we’ll see but that would be amazing!) ○ Get a Massage (Not a touchy feeling person, but I want to try this, and yes that sounds sad; but I am cheap) ○ Read and Learn about herbalism (I am a plant killer and would like to try harder) ○ Make Witchy Stickers (for personal and sharable use! Made moons so far, I really enjoyed those so I want to add in more) ○ Keep on track with credit cards – should get some paid off (getting there, this is one of those things I failed on last year but want to get better about, I mean I know its always good in the beginning then things happens or come out, etc, but I have been trying to spend less and live more minimally anyway, so I am hoping this is the year) ○ Aggressively Save by June (Goal, but we’ll see. So far so good. This is assuming I get a raise and all the other stars align, but I want to make sure to do some – in emergency cash, you just never know and that is how I get credit card debt, oye!) ○ Find an investment – Either a retirement or something, to invest in – maybe stock? (I think I want to do stock I think, and it looks fun and interesting. Definitely want to learn about this as a couple I think hubs would have fun with this too, need some disposable money first, something we are not afraid of losing and can have some fun with learning) ○ Make $41,000 (asking in a few days) ○ Refinance Car in June or July with Capital One (goal, I know Capital one will give me a great rate but I wanted to pay on it a while before transferring it, I hope I can do this. I like Capital one for lending, they’ve been good to me) ○ Plan a quarterly ME day (scheduled these out, plan to ask about them when we do yearly. I am not worried about them as I have 40 hours still for the next year, I am pretty healthy and we haven’t taken a ton of vacation so yeah, I think I’ll be good, I have no clue what to do on them other than just take a long weekend away from both work and hubs) ◉ Get a State Park pass (done already, now we just need to use it) ○ Camp in the Rocky Mountains (Lord help us, he wants to do it alone. We are not campers nor do we have anything for it, was suggested https://www.hipcamp.com/ if anyone else is wanting to do) ○ Try Skiing this year (yup, need to at least once here) ○ Visit one of your must-see places (hoping for tropical!) ○ Have a ‘family’ vacation, preferably somewhere tropical this year (yes.) ○ Focus on Minimizing stuff (goal being a box a month, oye! This month will be easy as I am getting rid of some craft stuff, sending to Sis in NY, but yeah I want to keep downsizing and focusing on digital stuff vs physical. I am keeping my keychain wall and not counting products, so there is that exception) ○ IF we don’t move, new desk and chair from Ikea (I need a new chair, I have no clue which one or what I want. I really like my rigged half-chair, I like to sit cross-legged, but yeah I need to find one. Order a new cabinet which I think will fix the clutter around my desk, we’ll see) ○ Keep trying to lose weight (blah, this sucks but is a reality) ○ Get shoulder looked at (going to get this looked at when I go to Dr. been keeping track of it and where, when and maybe why, it doesn’t seem as prevalent now, but I think it is just when it actually hurts it bothers me, so yeah tracking is helping. I also want to ask why I am so internally cold, it drives me nuts, its not on the outside, its hard to describe but yeah on the list too) ○ Get a bike and start riding again (going to start in Wash Park here in Denver, since I can rent a bike there. Spring obviously. I would love to enjoy it and go up north and ride in on the trails and such, that would be so nice to be into that, I just don’t know if I would be, so I want to try it again.)

Spirituality
Finances

Physical Environment
Health & Fitness
○ Keep art a fun hobby for now, focus on design. (stressing over it stresses me) ○ Learn UX Design concepts (Education goals~) ○ Learn how to code Apps [learn, design, plot, code?] (I can code most web stuff, but I want to learn to code apps! I think it would be fun to make some simple ones and work on this) ○ Create Custom Inserts for Happy Planner (So far so good, releasing the night ones soon, the biggest hurdle has been figuring out packaging and shipping, but I feel good where I am now with what I got. If this one sells well I am going to look into doing a foil version I think and at the least different colors – silver, rose gold, etc then I want to see about the other ones, printing them as backs, lots of ideas! This is the thing I am so excited about for planners this year) ○ Create a blog plan – with admin work pre-planned to revamp old post/refresh things (I am terrible at this and Etsy admin work, so I have set aside Mondays after regular work a few hours every week, not at home, at a cafe or something, so I can focus on writing and working on these type of task. I am super excited to get started and Jorie is going to join me sometimes to do the same, super excited) ○ Create a Goal planning Book? (basically the insert style but in a book form, looking at it and pondering, that is why there is a question mark) ○ Create an Online Course (I have no idea what, but I am thinking tech – I teach tech all the time at work and it might be a good lesson here, how to do x or y, Google stuff, how to planner efficiently, I dunno, something fun though, maybe Marketing too, I’m always told you can hear the passion when I speak about marketing and design work) ○ Write a book – #lifetime goals (usual, I always put it on here, one of these days) ○ Make journals/Books to order (these are simple premade books I want to try, I think a prompt would be great, but I think an app would be good too – different products for different types of people) ○ Work on art designs for download (like the creative market, I’ve made nearly all of the sticker designs I’ve used and I thought it might be fun to try to do it in reverse too – make a set, then make the stickers, then sell the clipart too) ○ Design a game with Hubs (dream goal, as we are both learning to code, how cool and fun could that be? Or marriage ending lol, either way I think would be fun) ○ Organize projects better, so set goals and focus on what works more (ROI) (I am terrible at tracking ROI and just doing things for fun, but mean that isn’t terrible, hobbies yo. But yeah I would like to track what I make this year, see where I go. I started on the inserts and was amazing to see people buy them and enjoy tehm T_T that brings me so much joy and happiness, like I use them because I had a need and I made them, so other people going – yeah I would like that too – and PAYING me for it, is insane, I am just so happy and grateful /long sappy rant. More on this when I share my star ones and get going on the next) ○ Freelance! Even if it’s just a few projects, get started trying it to see if you like it (ugh I don’t wanna, I wanted to try this some this year but now that I have interest and request I am like ew extra work D: ugh I am terrible adult. I should totally embrace this but yeah I need to try it and I should offer it, I want to help people and 90% I love doing it, so yeah need to get on) ○ Bake a full cake and decorate it each quarter (practice!) Preferably a small tall one (planned out, hubs tried to get me on Nailed it, that ass, so I am going to do this every quarter and work on my patience for decorating, patience is a keyword for me this year) ○ Create Stickers again! (Want to get back in the habit of this, I feel bad because I LOVE the HP Sticker books and I own, like them all…but I like the premade sets too – they feel more productive and have specific sections to fill out for a great week, so yeah want to get back on this) ○ Create a community D: somehow? Create a Patreon digital and print club – using stickers/inserts (I am thinking Patreon, yes, but I am not 100% on yet, I will let everyone know before I do it, since I do a lot of digital it would be pretty good to have a digital selection change each month, then I dunno, but yeah thinking about it. I also want to make it an accountability group so we can all work together to get stuff done!) ○ Inserts, work on downloads, printables and get back into it (So far so good, I want to update all the things too, a customer I was working with, I did some custom headers, and they loved it D: So I think I want to include that in everything too) ○ Do physical Inserts (See above) (working on it) ○ Start a Vinyl Shop / Realtor Gift Section / Nerdy Car Decals (working on this, this will be a separate shop but I need to get on it I have been putting it off because, shipping again, it’s actually quite hard to figure these details out and get it going, logitstics wise. But yeah, on the list. I think I will be good on this since I can do a lot of realtor type gifts for me office)
Career & Business //AKA Projects
My goodness, that is terribly long, I swear I don’t think it’s too much, but I get it, it looks bad. Most of it is notes and specific aspects I want to focus on. I’d say three goals for each section of level 10 is plenty, the average for me, then the hobbies goals are more or less reminders for things I intend to do, and will do, but in a list so I can keep on top of it.
So how I keep these in front of me is I print them out and paste/glue/tape them in my planner. Then when I need to build my monthly ‘todo’s page, I will go back and pick a few items that either complete, help or build onto those goals. So coding, I set aside time every THUR after work and relaxing (I think around 8 PM) to study.
I am super excited to get started on all these and start checking things off.
Hope you have an ambitious 2019 year planned too! Let’s get it done.
