Self-Care Isn’t Selfish
Don’t forget to take care of yourself so you can take care if the rest – here are three challenges that help you make time for yourself.
Hello friends,
Just a quick reminder from me to you:
Self-care isn’t selfish.
Especially in chaotic, uncertain times—like during the Quarantine or any time life gets overwhelming—you do not have to be productive to be worthy.
If all you did today was:
- Watch Netflix
- Eat snacks
- Shower
- Read a few pages of a book…
That is enough.
Read That Again:
It’s okay to not be productive during times of crisis.
Let it sink in.
You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to take care of yourself in whatever way you need. There is a difference from sticking your head in the sand, say and taking a news break because it is insane to keep up with.
Mind you, I mean taking breaks and health habits. Its important more than ever to be informed, but you can put limits on that and help in ways you may not even know! Here are some great resources: Under the Desk News (my favorite); The Simple Environmentalist (great gentle ways to help); and Ground News (because it’s a lot)
In Case you Need Some Help
I’m updating my 30-Day Self-Care Journal Prompts
✨ Go at your own pace
✨ Do what feels good
✨ Skip what doesn’t
✨ Repeat anything that helps
It isn’t selfish to take breaks.
Stay safe. Stay calm, And above all, please take care of yourself. We all need the reminder sometimes.
I was struggling recently because of the news myself, and had to take a break. Reddit is just not the happy place right now, is OKAY. Between unemployment, homelessness and traveling I was not able to keep the mood. I paused my news feed and kept it to the minimal while we got these things sorted, now I can dig back in and find places to make a difference that work. Take the break. It helps.
With gentle chaos,
Happy Planning
