50+ Fun & Functional Things to Track with a Habit Tracker
Here are 50+ inspiring ideas to fill your habit tracker up with so you can stay consistent and enjoy the process.
Why Use a Habit Tracker?
We all see those beautiful trackers all over Instagram and YouTube. Beautifully filled out habit trackers. Well, maybe you’re trying to build better habits, stay accountable, or just want to see how often you’re actually doing the things.
For me, it’s all of the above. Some habits I know I should just do, some are just because I don’t know when I did that thing last. If you are anything like me, a habit tracker can be a great external brain and reality check if you can’t remember the last time you did something should have done.
So if you’re looking for fun, functional, and slightly chaotic habit tracker ideas, here’s a list based on what I track (and why), plus more ideas you might find helpful.
What I Track in My Habit Tracker (and Why)
- (did I brush my) Teeth – I have ADHD, I track this because I am terrible at it
- Medications – I use to track vitamins, now I track my ADHD meds.
- Fun (yes, that kind) – For science
- Solo Fun – Also for science
- Laundry – Because I’ll put it off forever if I could
- Shower – Reminder system
- Hair Wash – I don’t do it often, but it matters for hair health
- Nails – I am constantly frustrated that this is required
- Writing – Did I journal or write today
- Reading – Did I read
- Poop – for science, obviously
- Fiber goal – to help with the science
- Headache – Did I get a headache today bad enough to take a pill
These are the things I am personally most concerned about, many are reminders and check-ins for my health. I can’t remember everything so this way I can look back on them and be like, OH I need to deal with that.

Other Ways to Use a Habit Tracker
You can create a unique tracker too, one for a specific purpose, for example I keep a cycle tracker and in it I track my mood, expected days I am on, calories (to see how much I eat on specific times of the month), and issues. I track because I keep an eye on PMDD symptoms and knowing helps me plan my energy. Some other ideas include;
- Cleaning Rotation: Clean kitchen on M W R, Vacuum every Friday, etc
- Medication Logs: Track dose, timing, and how you felt
- Pregnancy or Cycle Tracker: Monitor milestones, mood, movements, symptoms
- Mood or Energy Logging: Especially helpful when patterns aren’t obvious
Habit tracking isn’t about being perfect. It’s about observing your patterns and working with yourself. Sometimes its just so you can look back and see it’s been to long since you brushed your teeth and you feel ridiculous that you even have to track this, so you get up and go do it right then.
Sending tea and tiny wins,
